Walking to her truck Grace hopped in. She had done everything that was needed at the stallion barn. The gray truck rumbled to the barn where her mare, Summer. The appaloosa mare was a sweetheart and loved people. Grace jumped out at walked down the isle. She saw the spotted head of the mare. Summer nuzzled her head into Grace's chest. Grace hadn't ridden a horse in about 12 years. She only had the two that she did because she loved them. She wanted to work up the courage to get back into the saddle but a feeling in her stomach told her not to. In all the years that Grace had the appaloosa mare, she had never once thrown anyone from the saddle. She was safe as anything, but Grace didn't want to take that chance. Picking up the lead rope, Grace opened up the stall and hooked it to the pink halter that was already on the mare. Grace lead the horse to the cross ties and became to groom her. Running her hands along the mare's back, Grace felt more assured that, if and when she wanted to ride the mare would be gentle.
